Besharam | Box Office Predictions

With a lot of hype supporting it,  Besharam is expected to open quite well at the box office. While Ranbir Kapoor factor should be the single most driving force for the film, the very fact that it is coming on a National holiday will give further boost to its collections. Moreover, it is being released on a screen count more than Chennai Express , the biggest of them all, which means there is huge market open out there for this Abhinav Kashyap film to explore.

 On the flip side, there would be an instant comparison coming into play as well. On the first day of its release, Chennai Express had netted over 33 crores at the box office. Though it would be too much to expect for Besharam to come anywhere close to this number, the least it would have to do is cross the 20 crore mark at the box office so that Ranbir’s last record of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is eclipsed. While this is a bare minimum expectation from Besharam, ideally the film would be looking at scoring around the 25 crore on the first day, given the aforementioned factors pertaining to release size, hype and holiday factor.

The film is all set to score heavy as the weekend comes to close since it enjoys a five day long stay till the weekdays begin. What goes against it is an average response to the songs and the promos though. Given the masala flavour of the film, the least that Besharam would have to fetch is at least 100 crore at the box office. In a way, this also establishes the super-stardom of Ranbir Kapoor since other than the Big-Six (five of them being around for over two decades each and Hrithik being there for more than a decade), no other young actor comes with such baggage of expectations.

No wonder, Besharam is going to be the real test for Ranbir.

Bipasha Basu to feature in 'Bang Bang'?

It was earlier declared that Siddharth Raj Anand's much awaited, dream venture 'Bang Bang' would en-cash the sizzling pair of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, which was earlier seen sharing space together in 2011 release 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. Along with the lead, the script too was declared to be a full on action and thriller genre.

Now that rest of the cast is still kept under wraps, a news birdie has flown under it and came out soon. Reportedly, Siddharth who previously directed the romantic drama 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', is going to review his chemistry with his then lead from the flick, Bipasha Basu.

Yes! Bipasha is rumored to be a part of the action saga 'Bang Bang' apart from Hrithik and Katrina. "Billo" was requested by the director to feature in his upcoming, and after sharing a good rapport in her previous with Siddharth she was left with no option instead merely agreed to him.

However, the film stars Katrina as the female lead protagonist, Basu is likely to essay a short role in the flick, as per the sources. 'Bang Bang' is an official remake of a Hollywood flick 'Knight and Day' starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

Shahrukh-Deepika’s ‘Chennai Express’ Nets Record Rs.33 Crore On The Opening Day

Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s latest film ‘Chennai Express’, which hit the screens yesterday, has broken all the opening day box office records.

Apparently, the film has netted record Rs.6.75 crore through paid previews and collected Rs.33.12 crore on its First Day which is another record.

Interestingly, both these records were held by SRK’s arch rivals Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s films. While Aamir’s ‘3 Idiots’ had collected Rs.2.75 crore through its paid previews, Salman’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ had garnered Rs.32.19 crore on it’s opening day.

However, SRK’s ‘Chennai Express’ now stands tall for both the records.

Meanwhile, the film has received mixed reviews from the critics but it seems it hasn’t affected its business at all. In fact, audience is enjoying the masala entertainer very much.

The next two weekend days are also expected to be very strong for ‘Chennai Express’ and it’s just a matter of time(or 4-5 days) when this train enters the Rs.100 crore club. But what remains to be seen is whether the film will break ‘Ek Tha Tiger’s record of the fastest Rs.10o crore collection. Let’s wait and watch, it’s in the sight too.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani 2013's biggest opener with Rs 19.45 cr

Dharma Productions’ Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani justified the hype. Akshay Kumar : This Eid brings Two big films

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said the carnival of Eid was big sufficient to put up two movies, SRK's "Chennai Express" and his "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again".

"I understand this in a optimistic way. Eid is a big day. It is large sufficient for two movies. There is no point in thoughtful too much over it," Akshay said at the first expression of the film held Wednesday. Eid falls in August.

The actor was escorted by the star cast of the movie, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and director Milan Lutheria.

Akshay will be seen taking the appeal forward which was initially played by Emraan Hashmi in the prequel. Talking about this, he said that there was no standard which he was annoying to cross.

"I am just playing my role. I havn't thought of it as a standard. I just listened to my director. I not ever believed that I had to cross any standard," he said.

Why Salman Postpones Film Shooting

Great Producer Boney Kapoor, who had reserved Salman Khan's time to shoot "No Entry Mein Entry", has resigned his dates to agree filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya to create his movie with the actor.

"No Entry Mein Entry" is the sequel to the 2005 film "No Entry".

Previous week whereas Boney was in Europe, he acknowledged an SMS from Salman demanding that the producer let go of his dates so that Barjatya could accommodate his yet-untitled movie.

"I've deferred my movie on Salman's request. Such date reallocations and changes are a routine happening in our industry. If I demanded some producer to alter my son Arjun Kapoor's dates, I am certain he would luckily do it," said Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor on Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Thankful at having worked with "exciting filmmakers" since his 2007 debut, actor Ranbir Kapoor Thursday declared that playing himself in his impending release "Yeh Jawaani HaiDeewani" (YJHD) is "harder" than passing characters in his preceding films.

"I am thankful that I got to effort through such good directors. I was at the correct place at the right time... I got these chances and I was bright enough to grab it.

"I think these (Anurag Basu, Ayan Mukerji) are truly exciting filmmakers. They have excessive things to say complete their movies... I just kind of tag alongside on their vision," said Ranbir here.

7 Mistakes in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham went onto become a blockbuster hit in the year 2001. But, sometimes we are so focused on the romantic family drama that we tend to ignore the flaws in the movie.

1. The movie is set in the year 1999, where we see Amitabh Bachchan talking to his younger son Hrithik. He is seen using a Nokia 9000 Communicator cell phone in 1991 whereas the phone was launched in 1996. While we agree that Big B is the Shahenshah of all things cool, the film is stuck in a weird flashback flashforward tussle.

2. We see Amitabh singing “Aati Kya Khandala” to his wife, in the flashback portion of the film which begins in 1991, whereas the movie Ghulam released in 1998. Aamir must have secretly released the movie seven years earlier so that Amitabh could a sing the cult song.

3. When Kareena a.k.a Pooja a.k.a Poo is leaving home for the college prom night, she is seen wearing a red outfit with a scarf. But, when she reaches the venue, her scarf disappears and she is seen wearing a red coat. We do believe she had a trunk full of clothes in her car. Unfortunately, Poo wasn’t the most unfornutate part of the film.

4. When Kareena is leaving for prom night, Hrithik tells her that she’s wearing two different sandals. Kareena dismisses him saying “It’s fashion” and she leaves the house, with Robby, wearing two different sandals. Upon reaching the venue, we see her wearing the perfect pair of red stilettos. How Kareena?

5. When Hrithik first meets Kareena at their college, he is seen driving a red convertible Lamborghini Countache. Later in the movie, when he offers a lift to Shah Rukh Khan, his car magically changes into a silver Mercedes! Wow! Now only if we had such powers!

6. When Kareena Kapoor arrives at her college, she tells her minnion ‘Robbie’ to park her car. Apparently, he couldn’t understand her faux British Indian accent and you can still see the car parked where Kareena abandoned it.

7. When Hrithik meets Kareena after the song “Deewana hai dekho”, Hrithik attempts to recite their childhood tongue twister “Chandu ki Chacha, ne Chandu ki chachi ko chandni raat mein chandi chawk mein chandni ke chamach se chutney chatayi.” But he recites it as “Chandu ki Chacha, ne Chandu ki chachi ko chandi chawk mein chandi ke chamak se chutney chatayi…Finally got it.” Well, Hrithik you missed the “chandni raat” part. But other than that, right on!
