The Attacks of 26/11 Movie Review

Rating: 3.5 Stars(3.5/5)

Review: Ram Gopal Verma makes a startling comeback with the movie The Attacks of 26/11. After having a consecutive chain of giving flop movies in the past few years, Ram Gopal Verma is back on the tracks of giving profound movies like Satya and Company once again.

As mentioned earlier by RGV, the Attacks of 26/11 is made to honor and salute the men in uniform and give a tribute the martyrs of 26/11. The movie shows the real life massacre that occurred in Mumbai on November 26, 2008. The film displays the horrific chain of events carried out by terrorists that left a permanent scar on the minds of Indians and the foreigners.

Nana Patekar plays the role of the then Joint Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Maria. The movie starts from the delivery of the ten deadly couriers loaded with guns, ammunitions that created havoc in Mumbai. The first half consists of the narration of the events by Nana Patekar about the surreptitious entry of the terrorists in the dark night and their targets. It starts from how they infiltrate into prime Mumbai locations like Cama Hospital, Taj Mahal Hotel, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and kills all brutually whether it’s a Muslim Nakab women, Hindu priests, innocent local-ites and even animals.  The movie also shows the way police catch hold of Kasab.

The movie spans the time from the attacks to the after math to the recently hanging of Kasab in 2012. The star cast is exceptional with their performances and they evoke the emotions felt by the people during and after the events. Sanjeev Jaiswal plays the role of Ajmal Kasab articulately.

The movie is a must watch as it is a tribute the brave men who lost their lives while getting Mumbai out of this mess.
