Ahmedabad India, 23th Sep, 2013: 'The Good Road' is a recently released Gujarati film directed by a well know ad maker Gyan Correa from Goa. The film was released in July this year and has won the National Award this year as Best Feature Film (Gujarati) in the regional category. The best news yet for the Gujaratis and Indians is that this film is also selected by India for the Oscars.
The film is about the on-road journey and the plot mainly pivots around two children. However, this is not a children's movie and has multiple layering. There are three different plots in the movie that intercept with each other. Most part of its shooting is done outdoors in Bhuj and Kutch areas of Gujarat. It is a debut movie of Gyan Correa starrring Sonali Kulkarni, Ajay Gehi Keval Katrodia , Shamji Dhana Kerasia, Poonam Kesar Singh and Priyank Upadhyay.
The débutante director on the success of his film commented that, “ Anyway, I'm looking forward to the support of prolific filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. They are much more experienced than I am. So their guidance is much sought out and it will help a lot. Camaraderie is bound to follow competition. After all, it's not my film anymore it belongs to India now."
The Producer & Cinematographer Amitabh Singh was delighted that the film has been nominated for Oscars by India. He further said that the film has a good chance of being in top five at the Oscars, "We couldn't believe this... It is a dream come true. It took a while for us to believe it. Winning a national award was a big achievement and now this second big achievement. I feel our film stands a good chance to make it to top five."
